MODERN CHORAL CLASSICS side by side with brand new works, exploring various spaces in the Kiasma museum. György Ligeti represents the contemporary music canon, while Qasim Naqvi’s Fjoloy - in which the choir follows microtonal parts created on a synthesizer through headphones - is now performed for the first time in Europe. In Jaya Gāthā, Patiparn Jaikampan, winner of the Einojuhani Rautavaara Composition Competition in 2016, creates a magical surround effect by arranging the choir around the hall. Tiina Myllärinenalso explores space in her new composition Railo, which highlights conflicts between the human inner and outer world.
